    My histogram doesn’t show up when you hit info all i get is that level and all the info…. Do I need to get a firmware update or something?

    The Canon 7D does not have a live histogram function. The only way to get a histogram type image readout from a 7D (or any other Canon DSLR, I believe) is to take a still image and then look at the Info on that stored still image.

    Ah, joy of shooting DSLR…
    (you end up learning a lot of workarounds)

    No histogram in video mode but if you flip the switch back to stills and hit live view the histogram shows up when you press the info button twice.

    With any other Canon VDSLR you could use Magic Lantern which provides live view histogram in videomode, but with the 7D it’s still not possible… 🙁
