  • Highlights move out of position

Posted by Matthew Press on October 3, 2005 at 7:01 pm

I’ve on a project that has over 70 titles that i’v converted into Buttons.
They look good for the first day but the Highlighs seem to move slightly out of position. Leaving me with ragged looking Highlights (BUTTONS). I went in and trashed the old (=). Copy and Pasted a new (=) and that worked perfectly but the next day they had moved out of position again. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK IS CAUSING THIS??
Please get back to me. The Art Directors I’m doing this project for will not tolerate this ragged highlight Button.
    Thanks
    Matt

What’s your build number? (Help > About Encore DVD)

I thought it was a pretty straight-forward reply: Can you tell me your build number? It should be listed in the about box as 1.x.x.xxxxx.

I’d like to know what your build number is before I answer.

OK, you’ve got Encore 1.5.1 installed.

I’ve never seen the problem you are reporting before. I can’t recall anyone else reporting it, either. Can you post a menu which fails so I can download it and check it out?

Can I have an Email Address to send the PSD too?

My email is mpress@grey.com. You can send your email address to that Address.

Got your email (thanks for sending it). However, the button highlights do not move out of position for me. Any further steps to reproduce it?

Maybe this will help you quickly solve your problem: since your button highlights are based on the text, use the text as subpicture instead of creating them as you are. You can do this from Button properties (it’s a checkbox in the Properties palette- you’ll have to delete the existing subpicture layers first or afterward). Hope this tip helps you.

    Hey Joe,
I’ll try your tip. Check the Menu in 24 hours, that when the movements have occured. Let me know and thanks for the help.

Sub Picture Option works very nicely…thanks.
It is a pain though when there are many Text Buttons.
