I’ve noticed that clips with luma and chroma highlights over 100ire get reduced when importing into AF. These highlights (with chroma on a WFM up to 125ire) playback fine and record sucessfully onto Dig Beta.
Also in Premier Pro 2.0 these clips import with their high native level intact. But in PP2 when applying an unsharp filter, for example the level is reduced about 15IRE.
I am using AF 7.0 and Tiffen’s new plugin filters.
Is there a solution to this? I suspect this is caused by the filters working (or not) in RGB color space and using 255 max level, verses YUV which i believe only allows 235 max level. If so are there diffusion plugins that don’t chop the chroma and luma highlights?

    Any thoughts?

This is SDI NTSC captured video using PP2 and an AXIO card. It is fine in PP2 until I put a filter on it as I say.
