High resolution
Hopefully this is not too off-topic…
I am looking at taking on a project which will need a high-resolution output for display across multiple projectors.
I am looking to display some visual effects and footage on a very wide wall using potentially up to 6 or 8 projectors across a span of approx 60-80 feet. A number of the effects will need to travel the entire length of the display area, and so I am wondering if it possible to render something in the order of 6400 * 600 – to give me the equivalent of 8 x (800 x 600) but 1920 seems to be the maximum?
I tried to render a couple of test projects in Vegas 10 pro, but aything about 2000 seems to be rejected – I tried to render a 2400 x 600 (for 3 @ (800 x 600)) screens, but it rejected the 2400 and seems to have a limit of 1920..
I have approx 6 months to work out if it is even feasible, so will have plenty of time to test things out..
BTW – the organisation is an amateur one – I am just looking at the possibility of taking on a really adventurous project, so we don’t have a huge budget – so something like a couple of christie’s are out of the question – I have access to 8 or 10 standard projectors, a couple of 8-output graphics cards, Qlab, GrandVJ, a decent Apple Mac pro etc…
Any suggestions on where to start would be welcome..
Thank you.
