    Hi,

I’m editing a 1080p timeline in FCP. I have some very large TIFF files I am planning on using, roughly 8000×5000 for some of them.

Is there anything to be gained by keeping the resolution of the TIFF larger than 1920×1080? Or, am I just wasting space?

    Thanks,
    Bleakley

8000 pixels wide is too big for FCP…

If you’re planning to zoom in you will need them larger than 1920×1080… If there are static then 1920×1080 is just fine.

FCP 7 cannot work with stills over 4000 pixels. You’ll get a GENERAL ERROR when you try to render it. YOu need to make them all 3800 pixels or less.
