High Quality PS Images Turn LOW Res in Comp
I’m baffled. I made screenshots of a web page, cut out sections to place video into, imported that into After effects (As a Comm, Retained Layers). Next, I layed in the videos behind the open parts (created in PS). I then pre-comped that layer so that it’s one piece/layer in another comp where I am animating the page as a single file.
I have done this a million times. Yet for some reason, today, the imported images are fine from Photoshop, but blurred (distorted) in the pre-comp!
I am working at a job where I am using someone else’s dimensions. Normally I work in square pixels at 1080 or 720p. Photoshop brings the files in at 1920×1200 (HDV 1080 setting). The template (prior person’s comp) is 960×720.
When non-Square, the quality is SHOT. It looks horrible, blurry, distorted and pixelated.
An AE specialist colleague swiftly turned all fo my layers to 3D and collapsed transforms. This seemed to work. My images looked crisp. Unfortunately, I have a camera move though, and when it moves a certain way, the video footage behind the photoshop files shows! I have no clue how as they are imported as a Pre-Comp, not separate layers in the main composition where I am animating.
I can ask for help tomorrow, but I feel (and probably look) a bit incompetent doing so. So if I can get a bit of help here before morning, I’d appreciate it.
