I recently imported some footage from my 7D into fcpx and chose not to analyze and transcode until I made my selects…at that point I selected the clips and right clicked and choose transcode media….fcpx transcoded to prorez just fine, but the files in the project were still displaying in the timeline as h.264…I thought they were automatically relinked to the high quality files…am I wrong?…Am I supposed to move the originals and import the new “high quality” transcoded files?….any thoughts …thanks in advance

I think this is a bug. The browser does not switch to tell you what file format is being used, it jsut tells the native clip format. The easy way to tell is you “Reveal clip in Finder” and see if it is in the “HIgh Quality Media” folder. If it is, you’re good.

Also make sure your prefs are set to “Use High quality Media”

I don’t have FCPX open at the moment, so those might not be the exact nomenclature, but should get you close.
