September 4, 2005 at 6:34 pmthe spec’s call for DVCpro50 4:2:2 .. it remains to be seen how high quality the images will be as nobody has seen any images from the ccd’s ..
kind of like the dvx100 is 4:1:1.. is it high quality ? compared to say the sdx900 in dvcpro25 mode ?? they are both 4:1:1 .. the 2 images do have a different quality … depending on your preference one might consider the images from the 2/3″ CCD camera higher quality then the 1/3″ CCD camera ??

September 4, 2005 at 8:16 pmThat’s the HD lenses, CCDs and better internal processing on the SDX900 too. One hopes you get those for the added $$$.

September 5, 2005 at 3:14 pmI would assume the 4:2:2, 50Mbps DVCPRO50 signal has to be recorded to the P2 card(s) but I don’t know that for a fact. Can anyone confirm or can your record it to the DV tape?

September 5, 2005 at 4:54 pmThe tape deck is for standard DV only. DVCPRO50 goes to P2.

September 6, 2005 at 9:44 amThanks for that. One final thing If I shoot in pal and then interpret footage to NTSC, will the quality be the same as if I shot the footage in NTSC
By the way how do you lay the link for the brochure, how do you do that?
Thanks

September 6, 2005 at 12:15 pmThen the camera is not cheap, How can they say charge so much money for a memory chip, this will obviously deter a lot of people in buying the cam. Panasonic will no doubt in a year or two lower the price but only after most of their cutomers have bought some other wonderful invetion, Sony, ect…Who is going to buy a cam for 6 grand only to shoot SD…..If you buy the memory and end up spending 10 grand then it ust be very very gooooood!
