high pitch audio buzz
Just recently I started experiencing a high pitch audio hum/buzz (for lack of a better word) during analog acquire (Media 100). After several tests I found that it’s not coming from any deck (either that or its coming from every machine – highly unlikely) and it only goes away when I disconnect the AJA breakout cable (duh). In fact, it even goes away if I only disconnect the green (y) video connection – but then I don’t get anything – it must be an “all or nothing” situation. Could it be the breakout cable?

Sounds like a ground problem. What is on the other end ? A patch bay of some sort?

I have seen AJA cards cause interference with the internal MAC Audio. So how are you monitoring your audio – are you listening to the output of your Kona card (which should be perfect), or are you monitoring the output of your MAC computer ? Exactly, what are your speakers listening to?Bob Zelin
