  • Hige Quicktime File Sizes…NEED COMPRESSION!!!!

Hello. I have a client who needs to view the time code of all the clips. The total length of the video is over thirty minutes.

Using WMV compression I was able to get the file size to a beautiful fifty megs, however my client is using a MA and doesn’t know how to install FLIP4Mac or anything like that so I need it to be in quicklime.

The problem is every single compression I use in Adome Media Encoder is very large in size. It’s looking like 100 Frames equals one Meg, not to mention a five hour render, is there anything I am missing to make a decent sized thirty minute video file for web VIA QuickTime Codec’s.

Please get back to me soon..

Do you have the suite? Is it CS3?

    If so, I’d try Flash.

If not, I’d try one of the web QT settings…

It depends on exactly what detail the client needs to be able to see…

i get the best quality and small file size for the mac using quicktime pro exporting the h264 codec. even at medium quality setting it looks quite good. you can also use the adobe media encoder exporting h264 from premier.

You could export a DV AVI and then use Quicktime Pro to convert the AVI to a MOV at the appropriate size and data rate.
