Hiding the Audio Channel Overlay in the Timeline
Hey, this is one on those, hopefully, really simple easy things, that I am just overlooking. In the Timeline, on the audio tracks there is a little overlay with the audio channel. It appears on each track, after each cut. Is there a way to turn that off?
Part of my problem in finding a way to turn them off, is I don’t actually know what they are called. Below is a screen shot.

In the Timeline Display Settings (looks like a wrench in the upper left hand corner of the timeline, below the timecode display) you can uncheck “Show Audio Names”.

Sadly, that is not it. I have the audio names turned off, and it still displays the channel overlay.

That’s the same version I have but the Audio name toggle seems to work for me. When you toggle that setting on/off does anything change (like more info gets added when it’s ‘on’)?

The “Show Audio Names” toggle works fine for me, and does exactly as the name implies. When it’s on, I see the file name in the timeline, when it’s off I don’t. It doesn’t affect anything else on my machine.
So, the channel badge seems to be unrelated. The only thing I have found that turns off the channel badge is the hide the wave forms, but that’s completely counter productive for me. The reason I want to turn them off, is they are obscuring some fine details of the wave from.

I never noticed the channel badge staying the whole time but it seems that it does. Time for a feature request!
