It’s not a big deal but when opening a bunch of little clips to the timeline from a folder I just hit Ctrl A and of course it selects all of the .SFLs also…and then Vegas (Pro 8) complains that they are an unsupported format…is there an easy way to avoid this or do I just deal with it?
    Thanks very much,
    Randy
BTW V8 also rebuilds the wav after doing this too…I thought that was what the .sfl retained

Are you talking about .sfl files (that contain marker information) or .sfk files (that contain audio waveform information)?

Anyhow, when you drag videofiles from the Vegas explorer, you can hide these unsupported files by deselecting ALL FILES from the VIEW TYPE BUTTON on top of the explorer tab.

And when you drag your video files from Windows Explorer directly onto the Vegas timeline, you can press the TYPE button below the menu bar in Windows Explorer to group all your video files together…

Oh yes you’re right they are the .sfl files…I have been opening files with the open command (and there is no view all files option) so I’ll just use explorer as you suggest.
    Thanks very much,

Even when you use the FILE-OPEN option to add files to your timeline (a very original way to do this…), you can select only the file-types you are interested in (second pulldown menu).

I would do that but it’s faster and easier to just click OK when Vegas gives me the error…that would be different if it remembered my preference but it seems it doesn’t after trying it.
    Thanks any way,
    Randy

I believe that it is anyhow much faster to drag directly from the explorer onto the timeline instead of using FILE-OPEN….
