Hey guys, I have an scene with many objects and need to make an animation where one of each objects hides with each frame (so 500 objects to hide in 500 frames, one by one, frame by frame). If somebody will help me with this task with any advice or any setup – you’ll save my life! Plugins, moGraph, anything… Thank you!

What about using an effector and using the visibility button? Not sure what the test is for when to hide, but one of the effectors (or effector with field) will do the trick.

    Any more info?

Hey Steve! Thanks for the reply.

I cant make it work with the visibility button.

I’ve set up Octane so it renders each layer one by one based on the index of each object. Key frame at frame 1 with index layer one and key frame at frame 500 with index layer 500.

Now I just need to set up something similar based on the index of the object.

    Xpresso maybe?

Xpresso could do it and you wouldn’t need a tag on every object (not sure why the poster thought you would). You could use a link list and just iterate through the objects in the list and set each object’s visibility or object ID that way. You could do it based on frame# or just a count. So many ways. And you wouldn’t need to involve Octane in the process – it would just render what you give it.

I’ve never used Xpresso so I was trying to avoid it, also I need to render out the shadows and a few more passes more, so octane ID + the cloner offset trick works for me 🙂

    Thank you very much anyways!!
