This picture was taken with a 70,000 x 30,000 pixel camera (2100 Mega Pixels.) These cameras are not sold to the public and are being installed in strategic locations.

December 10, 2013 at 11:13 pmIt is pretty cool, but I’m guessing that it is actually many pictures stitched together because I noticed a few areas where the stitching wasn’t quite perfect. Something I wouldn’t expect to see if it was a single image.
Either way it would be interesting to read about how they did the shot. Is it detailed anywhere? I didn’t look.

You may be right. I haven’t found much info on the 2100MP camera but there are others who are stitching/using multiple cameras. There is more info (and pictures) on the Gigapixel.com website.
A friend pointed out that this is why she wears make-up to the grocery store…Jim
