    Hi there,

I’ve been using Final Cut Pro for many years now and I’m a big fan of the using Ctrl & V keys to quickly lay down cuts on the fly.

Today, however, my Ctrl & V key combination suddenly doesn’t work!

    What the…?

Just stopped working, just like that. I have no idea why. There must be something I’ve pressed or activated somewhere, somehow, but I have no idea what.

Perhaps someone might be able to help me? I’m stumped.

    Thanks in advance,

    ALEX

Check under “Tools” > “Keyboard Layout,” > “Customize.” Under the “ctrl” tab you’ll find an icon on the V button. If your “cut” icon isn’t there, find it under one of the drop down carrots on the right and drag to replace it. I think you’re looking for “add edit”, which is under the Sequence menu.

I have just purchased a Mac Pro with and Io HD. Can anyone advise me on what would be the best type of internal hard drive to perches for HD editing? I’m planning on purchasing 2 X 1 TB internal drives.

    Problem solved.

It turned out that I had turned off Auto Select on the track I was trying to use Ctrl & V on. Der.

Thanks to you both. Help very much appreciated. Saved me lots of frustration.

    Cheers,

    ALEX
