Hey Dan Ebberts, do you have any expressions for 3D programs?
HI Dan, I have gotten a lot out of your motionscript website in terms of improving my understanding of AE expressions. I was wondering if you had anything in the works in terms of applying your expertise to a true 3D program like Maya for example, which uses an almost identical expression language, except with one more true D.

PetePS when are you gonna get around to writing an expressions for AE book. I am sure I am not the only one who would buy it.

Sorry, I don’t have Maya.
As far as writing a book – I’ve put together a few chapters, but I’ve been so busy with other work that I’ve had to set it aside. Maybe I can get back to it before long. Thanks for asking!

You can find more than enough info on expressions (which are just another flavor of MEL scripts) if you search respective 3D related sites such as highend3d or CGTalk. Gnomon also has 2 DVDs on them, I believe, and Alias themselves also have DVDs. In addition to that the script guide in the online help and manuals is quite complete and much better than any docs AE has on either scripting or expressions. BTW, MEL is more C/C++ like. I don’t think that this would pose a problem for Dan, but there are some noticeable differences compared to Java/ JavaScript.
