So you get your P2 material into FCP, you cut it, then.. what do you output it to and how?

I guess if you have a Panasonic deck that records in the HD format you cut in, and is FW compatible you just do that but is there some other option.

I guess you need a card to get an SD version out in real time, or I guess do an export to some flavor of SD bring it back in create a new sequence etc and use that.

At what point do you need a card? Is the card only for the SD option?

I think I have just become confused, I have never thought of the output side of P2.

With something like XDCAMHD I would just output to an XDCAM HD disk and take that to a dub place to save the cost of renting a deck.

    But P2?

I will be outputting to HDCAM. D5 is an option…DVCPRO HD via a DVCPRO HD deck…digibeta…DVD…anything really. Depends on what your required delivery is…what you client wants.

Anything other than DVCPRO HD will require a capture card.

Yes, rent a deck, or get a capture card and lay it off in Sd in real time if you have an SD deck. You could export a self contained movie, bring that to the dubhouse, and have them take care of it as well.
