I am putting together a new web page (then site later) using the slice function in PS3. I’m wondering about two things one is all the background slices are gif files because i didn’t go in and change them all to jpg. .. Other is don’t you lose some of the benefits of SEO by using this type of page???

If you did not extract your text but rather rasterized the text into your graphics, then, yes, you lose SEO searchability.
