Help with Sony Z1U footage!! Footage imported at 108060i 24p without pulldown
Hello guys and gals, I need some serious help. New to the HD digital world, I’m editing a project that was shot on a sony Z1U and was imported (not be me) at 1080i60 we shot the project at 24p and as far as I know the pulldown was not removed when imported. Now I edited everything together and am trying to export it at 24p so I can have a digital file to post on a website, and one I can put on a DVD, as well as one that needs to be outputted on a PAL DigiBeta tape. I have successfully exported the project but the video looks like crap, their are horizontal lines everywhere, and it just doesn’t look the way I want it to. My question is how do I export it the right way? Or remove the pulldown and export it at 24p?
It’s quite frustrating. I’m new to the HD world, mostly I’m used to cutting film on FCP. Any help/tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again!

No you didn’t, because the Sony Z1 does not shoot at 24p, it only shoots in a mode that simulates 24p, it only does 1080i at 29.7. Sp, just capture using the 1080i60 preset.

We did shoot 24p, as I distinctly remember looking at the screen and it said 24p and my DP told me it was in 24p. My problem is that I didn’t log the footage, so I don’t think the person removed the pulldown. I know that it’s 1080i60 29frames with upper (odd) field, when I export it using quicktime or quicktime conversion it comes out like like crap. Should I set go into the sequence settings and set it to 1080i60 or export it using compressor (i have yet to try that because it is taking forever). If anyone can help it would be appreciated. I’m new to the HD world post-production. Thanks again.
