  • help with SNOW particles!

I am getting decent at AE, CS3, but can’t remember how to make show particles with an alpha channel. Here is what I did. I took a white solid, and added snow to it. What I am trying to do is place the layer so it looks like it is snowing in front of an behind a gift card. I can’t remember if I nest it into an alpha channel or what. I am trying to look it up, and I know it isn’t that of an advanced trick, but if my search becomes futile, can you give me a few steps to make and alpha channel with snow particles.

    Cheers

    Using CC Snow:

Make your solid black, set the blending mode to add.

    Use as a “Luma matte”.

    Good Luck.

    Cool, Thanks.

I will crack the code someday and be a pro at AE.

Got it to work. Can I add another background behind the gift card? I would like an image or a christmas tree

I wouldn’t recommend using any of the additive blend modes for snow. A Luma Track Matte would be better.
