Help with shimmering text
Posted by Cbrown3 on January 12, 2007 at 8:39 pmI would like to know if it is possible to make text shimmer or shine like real gold.
I have my text done like an animated signature, and would like it to look like gold.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Julian Sixx replied 19 years, 6 months ago 4 Members · 6 Replies -

January 12, 2007 at 8:57 pmGive this a try. Gold has a pretty distinct shine, but what-the-hey. It’s a start.

January 12, 2007 at 9:05 pmThe problem with shining objects is that they have to reflect their environment.
I find that 3D applications do that best, Invigorator is one of them.

January 12, 2007 at 11:41 pmThe text is treated with a ramp and some curves, maybe a color overlay for the yellow.
The animation of the text being drawn is done with masking. Probably using Vector Painted layer set as a track matte. On top of that there’s a particle emitter with the particles set to “star”. On top of that it looks like there’s a glowey ball slaved to the particle emitter.
Probably took 2 hours.
Any help?
