Help with rendering problem in FCP5
I’m having a problem whenever I bring a clip from the browser to the timeline. If a place a clip in the timeline and have the rt set to safe, then I have to render the clip. If I have the rt set to unlimited, then I get dropped frames on play back. I’m prompted to turn off the rt unlimited, but if I do then I have to re-render the clip. This is killing me because I have clips that are two to three minutes in length and it’s just not feasible to render each time I make a change. I’ve just gotten fcp 5. When I was using fcp 4, I never had this problem, and I can’t go back to fcp 4 because I have all g5 macs now. Any help?

Only thing that ever causes that is if the sequence is not the same settings as the clip. Check both the clips’ and the sequence settings and make that sequence match the clip!

I’ve checked evrything and it all matches up. I have everything set for dv ntsc 48hz. the only thing I’m not sure of is how to check the clips setting. Where would I find that info. Thank you very much for your help.
