I just shot a bunch of Train footage – trains passing left and right – with a Canon XH-A1 with settings at HDV 24F. I should’ve shot 60i. On final Cut the motions are obvious jerky.

The quicktime file is not jerky – seems to be 4141 pulldown? Playing from the camera to the monitor looks fine also. Only when playing from a FCP sequence with a 2323 puldown is it jerky.

Is the a sequence setting or something else that would let me play it 60i?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You’re not sure of the pulldown cadence toy used? If it’s 2:3:3:2 pulldown(24p advanced) you could take the clips into cinema tools and remove the pulldown.

Or you could capture the footage again with the remove advanced pulldown option on in your capture settings.
