hello, i posted last week about a green screen shoot. On set, i was able to run final cut, and a demo of dvgarage’s dvmatte plugin, which worked great. it was able to show us how or composite would actually look: which was fine.

now i have a problem (duh): i tried to export my clip from final cut to after effects as a video file set at “best”. when i bring it into ae, and run the foundry’s keylight plugin on it, all the green keys out perfectly (good lighting) but as soon as i set it, random different colored pixels appear all over the screen, that aren’t there until i key out the green. I’m assuming this has something to do with the way final cut compressed it when it exported it as a quicktime. is this dv’s tendency to “artifact”?

i was told by someone in my previous post, that i should edit my sequence into an NLE and export to AE by reference. which would mean that ae would take in the clips as a series of in and out points? i’m not clear on how to do this and would like to see if this might be the solution.
does anyone else have any other suggestions on how to get rid of these pixels?
    thanks for any input,

    ignacio.
