  • help with anamorphic output

I’m trying to help a friend output a movie that was shot 16:9 to miniDV tape. According to the FCP Help, my little old consumer DV camera might not be able to handle the conversion to letterbox so things don’t look squished? But then it seems suspicious that I can’t even get the Quicktime to export at the right aspect ratio (as is shown in the app.)??

    Many thanks in advance~

Do you want an anamorphic output or a letterboxed 4:3? if the latter, put the sequence in a standard DV 4:3 sequence, render it, and then record to your camera.

Wow, you’re right. How strange that simply changing my sequence settings for the sequence I’m in doesn’t work? I’m going to have to copy and paste entire movie into this new 4:3 sequence.

    Thanks for the help!

You can just drag the original sequence from the Browser to the new sequence…
