  • Help! Video Lags after Rendering

Posted by Sunny Jatana on November 9, 2009 at 3:33 pm

    Hi Everyone,

I’m a school teacher making a video for a Remembrance Day Assembly for next week. I’ve created and edited a short 10 minute clip, however when I render the video the final product, which is HD 1080-60i pauses a lot and lags.

How do I fix this issue? During the preview, there is lag during one part of the video, which is footage taken from a Sony HD camera.

    Any help would be apprecatied.

    Thanks in advance,

    – Sunny

My guess is that the computer can’t handle your rendered footage for playback purposes.
What format are you rendering to?
Does it need to be “HD 1080-60i” or will something less stressful (720×480 DV-AVI) be sufficient?

If the original files are m2t, try rendering to HDV m2t 1440 x 1080, and playing with VLC. It’s a free player and may be more efficient than media player. Here’s a link for the free player.

    Danny,

Funny enough I did try VLC Player. However, VLC only played 4 minutes of the 12 minute clip?! When I tried it in Windows Media, the entire 12 minute clip showed.
