I can open word docs into illustrator but the AI document doesnt adjust the size to fit the length of this credit scroll

I have everything formatted in word and am trying not to paste into illustrator

are there any other tricks to getting all these pages to come into illustrator as one long strip?

    thanks

Not an answer to your Q, but why not just use AE by copying the oontents from Word into a Text Layer?

Illustrator is really only a single page design tool, so a long Word document might exceed Illustrator’s maximum page size of 16,383 pixels.

If you have Premiere Pro, you could just use the title tool, which supports scrolling credits. You should be able to copy and paste from Word directly into the Premiere title editor.
