  • Help! “The system is low on memory”

    Hi everyone

I have imported four DVD Discs from my Sony Camcorder. I want to edit all the video material in one project. While opening the imported clips, the moment the use of my pagefile reaches 2 GB I get an error message

“An error occurred while opening one or more files.

The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications. “

    I have:

    Windows XP Professional SP2
    AMD Athlon 64×2 3600+ (Brisbane)
    2GB RAM
HDD 80GB (all I have for now)
    20GB NTFS – system partition
    4GB FAT32 – 4092MB pagefile (NTFS didn’t help; C: as system default for pagefile didn’t help either)
    30GB NTFS – other data
22GB NTFS – video files and all Vegas files (Temp etc.)

    Please help!

I’d change from Fat32 to NTFS no matter what. Are you sure the file is contiguous?
Are you logging any error? Check system error or application error. My Computer | Manage | Events | system or app

You need to come up with a big fat SATA drive to make your life easier. 250GBs are down to $65 on NEwEgg.

I am logging the following error:
