    hey all…

i am pretty new to the FCP HD studio suite (former avid editor) and i cut a sequence in FCP, exported it to STP and added some sound fx’s from STP’s library. i now have about 16 tracks in the STP project. i exported the STP project back into FCP, but, my FCP project still only shows (and plays) 4 tracks of audio (2 from the camera mic and 2 for a music bed i laid in in FCP).

what happened to my sfx’s tracks? why didn’t they show up when exported to FCP? i made sure in my FCP prefs that i allow 18 audio tracks…

    help!
    thanks
    mike

What version of FCStudio? How’d you export it? If you select the proper options, you can export a mutichannel mix.

thanks jeremy…i did get it to export, but, everything moved 1:09 out of sync with the video…? also, i forgot to put a fade out o0n the end of a music track, and FCP won’t allow me to add the fade? and, even when i reopened the project in STP and added the fade i wanted, re-exported, the fade didn’t show up in FCP…?

it’s FCP STUDIO2 HD (the latest with FCP 6)

    thanks!

    Okay, how’d you export?

i selected “export”, then saved to the desktop, preset = custom, exported items = selected tracks, busses and submixes, file typ = aiff file, 16 bit, 48k, the send files to FCP sequence

then the FCP import XML dialog box, destination = create new project, seq settings = default, options = reconnect to media, include markers and include audio/video effects

i just did all the above again, and now, not only did the tracks not show up in FCP timeline, there is no audio playback at all…

i think i just need to play around to figure out what is going on!
