    Hi everyone, PLEASE HELP.
Ive spent 20 or so hours editing this project on vegas 7, and now when I go to open it i get this error:

Warning: An error occurred while loading the project file.
The file is an unsupported format.

    HELP ME PLEASE!

I’ve had that happen too. In my case I found out that a plug in I was using was causing the problem. In my case I had uninstalled the plug in and it was looking for it. I reinstalled the plug in and it worked. Don’t know if that’s your problem nor not. Hope so.

I’ve gotten so I save my project to different names like video1.veg and then video2.veg often so I can go back a few steps if I need to.

See if the backup file will work.
It’s in the same directory as the main project file but has a .bak after it.
For example, if stewart.veg is the project file, stewart.veg.bak is the backup.
Copy this file to a new folder, rename it by erasing the .bak extension and then try opening it.
You may have to tell Vegas where the various files are.
If this works, save it IMMEDIATELY under a new name.
