Help, pls! Lost Real-Time Functionality?!?!?!
Posted by Max Frank on March 29, 2008 at 11:44 pmHi,
For some reason I’ve lost all my real-time functionality.
My RT settings are:
Safe RT
Playback Video Quality & Frame Rate: Dynamic
Record To Tape: Full QualityI’m not sure what’s going on, because it was working perfectly a little earlier.
I’m working on a DV NTSC timeline on a MBP, FCP 6.0.2
I’ve also trashed my prefs.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Wayne

March 30, 2008 at 12:18 amHi Jeremy,
Thanks for replying.
For instance, I have a red render bar over text that normally plays real-time.
Any ideas?

March 30, 2008 at 12:23 amYes, thanks for asking and answering.
This usually means that you need to render your timeline as your RAM quota has been reached.
GO up to your Sequence > render all and sequence > Render selection menus and make sure to check all of the options, especially the one marked ‘full’. Then render your timeline. The next time you drop on a text effect, you should see a green rt bar.

March 30, 2008 at 12:56 amHi Jeremy,
Thanks for the time.
That’s not helping.
Any other suggestions?
Wayne
PS – when I try a new project, the titles work perfectly in real-time. I’ve also rebooted. -

March 30, 2008 at 1:03 amWhat are you putting the title over?
Try turning your rt to unlimited.
Are you absolutely sure that all of your rt effects are rendered?

March 30, 2008 at 1:10 amHi,
The titles are red whether over a video clip or none at all.
Even Boris Title 3D is rendering red.
Renders orange on unlimited RT.
Wierd stuff, because everything was working perfectly a little earlier!!?!?!
Thanks again,
Wayne

March 30, 2008 at 1:17 amAnd you are ABSOULTELY sure everything is rendered. You have a solid blue line over your whole timeline?

March 30, 2008 at 1:39 amHi,
Yeah, everything is blue.
There must be something corrupting the time-line.
I have to call it a day right now, but thanks so much for your effort Jeremy.
Tomorrow I’ll have to go through the TL and see what could be causing the problems.
Thanks again,
Wayne

March 30, 2008 at 2:25 amHi Waine,
Unplug everything and trash the preferences again (FC Pro 6.0 Prefs, Pro Obj cache, Pro Prof Cache +com. apple. FinalCutPro.plist).
Let FC make a new “Profiling for RT”.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1
G5 2x2Gh 4GbRAM-BlackMagic Extreme
PMBP 17″Core2Duo 4GbRAM-AJA ioHD
JVC DTV-17″
SONY EX-1 . SONY PD170
..and always a big mess on top of the table. -

March 30, 2008 at 8:39 pmMake sure you are in Unlimited and not Safe RT. That’s the main one.
