    Hi,
I am creating a video with half of it being moving jpg pictures for DVD. I am getting flicker on the pic’s with some better or worse than others. I slowed down the zooming on them as well as giving them a slight blur as well. In addition, I have interlace flicker on. The video was shot in HD, but I “am not” rendering it to blu-ray. The entire movie with menus and speacial features needs to be recompressed due to it being 5.7 GB. I have rendered a small portion of the media w/ pic’s (2.7GB) and still got the same results as above.
Does anyone know what would be a good rendering setting from Vegas 8 to DVDA for my project? Settings such as bit rates, upper/lower field, etc. Any idea’s and/or tips would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Mixing progressive still images with interlaced video will almost always have problems. You might try rendering the whole thing progressive to feed to DVD Architect but you’ve already tried the usual tricks of using the reduce interlace switch and using a bit of blur. It might not get any better than that.

    Hi John,
Thanks for your help! Your right, mixing both does give you problems. I’m trying numerous things without any progress. I’ll try your suggestion and render in progressive. As always, a BIG Thanks for the help! Ray

Are there any possibilities to create a DVD which contains both video and jpg pictures and can be played on DVD player?
If yes, what kind of programmes shall I need and how to use them?
Thank you very much for your anwer emailed.

Hi Imre, You should really start a new thread for a new request. Most consumer packages like Ulead DVD Movie Factory will create video or slide shows from stills very easily but not both in the same movie. If you want to have both video and stills in one movie, or you want the ability to cut some things out of the video or add titles, etc. then you will need to do some video editing and there is no better package for beginners IMHO than Sony’s Vegas Movie Studio for standard definition video or Vegas Movie Studio Platinum for hi-definition video.
