Help Please
Posted by Greg Gogava on February 2, 2008 at 6:10 amHello
I have one question
lets say I have a clip of 2 man walking together – so what i would like to know if there is a way in FCP to freeze one person and let the other keep walking.
or I need to use After Effects for that ?
If there is a way in FCP , how ?
Thanks

February 2, 2008 at 7:03 amIt really depends on the footage itself. If you could post a clip or even a still of the video it would be much easer to say.

“There’s a big difference in “having” a clip and “shooting” a clip for this purpose.
If I wanted to create this scene, I’d make sure to shoot it with the effect in mind.

“There can be a big difference in just “having” a clip, and “shooting” a clip for this purpose.
If I wanted to create this scene, I’d make sure to shoot it with the effect in mind.
Then, it would be very quick and easy to accomplish using just two video layers (as Uli said) in FCP.

yeah, very important, and also MUCH easier if you film it with the camera completely static on a tripod. Then you can be sure that the background of the static man will be the same as the background of the moving man and it will not look unnatural.
mark.
