I’m just at the final stages of finishing this dv project (which is due tomorrow) and I’m getting a weird “digital mess” during the fade ins and outs…all the other footage is fine. It’s as if the fade in’s and outs are pixelated and then all the other footage remains uneffected.

Also, the fade in’s/out’s look fine when I’m viewing the project in FCP4.5. It’s only after burning the project to DVD that I get the digital mess and is being viewed on a TV.

    What could this be?

    Here’s my path.

    1. Shot on Panasonic DVX-100 24P
    2. Imported DV NTSC 48KHZ
    3. Edited
    4. Export>Quicktime Movie >Setting>DV NTSC 48KHZ

Then once the Quicktime/FCP file is done I import into DVD Studio Pro 2 and burn.

Is there something that I’m doing wrong here?

Try increasing the bit rate in DVDSP preferences (encoding).
