OK, so my edit suite was running nice and smoothly with an AJA IO, but thats suddenly choked on me and it won’t be fixed for a week or two. And, as usual in a situation like this, I’ve got a client in on Saturday. And I need to play some SDI material in and out of my G4.

So, after trying to find anyone that rents out a capture board (and failing miserably), I’m gonna buy a nice basic Decklink card (cos they’re so damn cheap now) and pop it in (deleting the AJA drivers, of course!).

BUT, I just want to check – and this may have been discussed before but I can’t find it straight away – how well will a Decklink work with a GTech FW800 drive. I’m guessing they work OK together?

if you are doing SDI, the G-Tech drive will perform no better and no worse than it did with the AJA I/O .

If you don’t get the Decklink Extreme, you will have no analog monitoring capability as you had with the I/O.
