  • Help! Opening .MXF files from a non P2 external drive

Hi, It’s my first time using the HVX, which we rented (minus a manual for the card reader). We were copying data from the P2 cards to the internal drive on the card reader, but as it was full, and we couldn’t find out how to reformat it whilst shooting, we had to resort to copying the .mxf files straight to an ordinary firewire drive. When i took these and tried to import into final cut pro, it obviously didn’t see a P2 device, and i cannot find a way to open or import them. They are also locked. Is there any way to a) unlock these files and import them as a ‘file import’ into final cut pro straight from my external drive, or b) copy them back onto either the FS 100 or card reader drives and open them off that? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, as there’s about half a day’s footage i cannot access.
