    Hi,
I just finished a project containing some text I made in AE combined with some footage, and when I exported it through the render cue as PAL 50i 4:3 and viewed it in Windows Media, the text seemed to “twitch”. This is queer as I’m pretty sure WM de-interlaces the footage as it plays it, and I thought text only ‘twitches’ when it plays interlaced. I played the video on my TV and I still got the problem. I remember Premiere Pro had something which could solve the twitching problem but I can’t remember. Is there any way in AE I can avoid this problem?

    Thanks

    Josh

I’ve never seen a PAL 50i render in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Perhaps you’ll want to tell us if it is in intermediate render or one destined for tape or the Web/disc.

FWIW, for WM Player to deinterlace your footage, it will result in a 50 fps movie. Perhaps your twitching is due to frame drops as due to the datarate requirements in running 50fps footage on your computer – or any computer for that matter.

FWIW, I’ve noticed that when I export non compressed the text does twitch, but most of the times in any conmpression text flickers.
