    Hello All,

I am just writing to see if any of you who are experts with DVD Authoring can help me with a question.

I have shot a 1 hour film in HDV and want to make a SD DVD master in DVD Studio Pro, the problem I have encountered in the past is when you compress from HDV to NTSC DV it looks like absolute garbage, you spend thousands on your production for the DV compression to make your production look bad.

I was wondering what is the exact steps to get a HDV video from the Final Cut Time line to a standard def DVD master and maintain at least a decent quality image? when you rent a DVD from the store it is SD and looks great, anything close to that would be fine, all help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Paul

If you are going to SD DVD anyway, maybe you could just dub your HD master straight to DVD and then rip it with something like Cinematize for use with Studio Pro or Final Cut. Just a thought if you are in a hurry.
