Hi, I have a deadline approaching tomorrow and I need help on what compression settings to use for a 1 hour and 45 minute video. Compressors 120 High Quality default isn’t giving me the results I need.

p.s. the movie is ripped from a DVD using DVDxDV and the movie it creates looks great!!! After using compressor when there is fast motion it looks like light tv scan lines, even though Im vewing it on my computer. To save room I will use A. Pack for my audio compression.

    thanks!

Might try rebuilding the offending clips one more time by exporting them as self contained QT movies (then edit the duplicates back in). see if you can rebuild them that way? What sequence settings are you using?

Check out BitVice, a third party software MPEG2 encoder. BitVice kicks Compressor’s sorry ass down the block, IMHO. The only advantage Compressor has over BitVice is speed. In terms of quality, BitVice rules. Just be forewarned–on a dual 2GHz G5, BitVice averages about 30-35% of real time. Innobits promises realtime encoding from BitVice Pro when it is released, although they’ve been hesitant to offer any concrete target dates for release.
