help: motion paths lead to slow response time.
I recently bought a new system and finally installed CS4 to test some things.
Everything works fine and fast, but if I want to select and transform a layer in the viewer, there’s an unworkable delay in my actions, even if it’s an empty 1k composition with only a simple shape layer. This does not happen happen if I select or transform a layer in the layer panel.
As this delay only happens when objects are animation, I found out the problem is solved when I switch off motion paths in the edit > preferences menu. In the past I had my motion paths always visible up to a minimum of 8 keyframes, and this rarely caused (notable) delays or problems.
As my new system is a theoretically a huge step forward, I don’t understand how this can be.
my new system is:
-Vista Home premium 64-bit
-Intel Core 2 quad CPU q9400 @ 2.66 Mhz 2.67 Ghz
-8gb DDR2 ram
-ATI Radeon 4850 1 gb
-After Effects CS4my old system is:
-XP home 32-bit
-Intel Pentium IV FSB800 2.8 GHz
-512 DDR400 ram
-MSI Geforce FX*5600 TD 256 mb
-After Effects CS2Any help is welcome!
Thank you!Joris
