help me i’m in export hell with dvcpro hd 59.94
im on fcp 6 – i have a nice shiny edit that has regular and slow motion converted items in a project. the project plays back fine, minus a few dropped frames from the machine lagging. usually i have a 23.98 project, but i was in a pinch and had to capture from camera (tapes were all mixxed footage concerning the 24 and 60p) and i converted the slow motion
ok i need to make a dvd and something for online play with black letterbox so it doesnt skew the apect ratio
when i export using compressed 8 bit, the slow motion files no longer look smooth, they look jumpy, also high colors have ugly squares around them – not to mention it chokes quicktime. i tried to render a nice looking dvcpro 60 file on a 24p timeline and it also made te slow motion look jumpy and nasty – as well as the square pixels.
how can i save my lovely sweet project?
my sequence is native to the clips –
frame size 960×720 (HD 960×720) 16:9
Pixel aspect ratio HD (960×720)
editing timebase 59.94
Compressor DVCPRO HD 720p60if anyone has any insite for export setting that would look nice or ways to export / import and render on a new sequence please let me know.
it’s one of the cases where i just want it to look as good as it does on the timeline – kinda makes me wish we shot sd. thanks for reading! take care!

oh here is the funny part –
so my “regular” footage (real time) is in 59.94 and all of my slow motion is 23.98 footage in a 59.94 timeline.
more reasons to hate my life, coming soon!

Why not make a DVD from your 59.94 material timeline? No reason to go to 8 bit first.
