Hi there! I’m a producer at a local cable company in California. We just got a lovely new Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 under Axio CE. Here is my question.

How do I export an HDV project to a Standard Def tape? Also, how do I export and HDV project to a Standard Def Quick time or Avi?

My ultimate goal here is to make my 30 sec project into an MPeg2 file at 18 Mbps to put on an ftp site so that our enoders in another city can put it on the air.

Any and all answers would be greatly appreciated. Our team is all new to Adobe.

    Thanks so much!

I assume you mean Axio LE, if so, this is all pretty simple and should be easy to find in the Axio docs.

If you are working in an HDV based project, you can simply change the Project playback settings to Standard Definition and you can playout or record to SD tape.

As far as creating MPEG2 files, simply use the Matrox Media Encoder.

    I hope this helps

Hi there Larry. Well, yes, I did mean Axio LE. 🙂

Anyway, I tried to change the Playback settings but there isn’t much that I can change. I can choose main SDI or secondary SDI but that didn’t change much. Most of the options are “greyed out.” I tried to change the control device to see if that allowed me to change anything and no luck. On the tab where it says DV 1394, that is all greyed out. It doesn’t allow me to enable it.

What can I do? I think that if I able to enable that (that was a weird statement) I can change to Standard Def and Export to Tape.

    Thanks for your help.
