  • HELP! Ingested footage plays back half speed – no backup…

Posted by Tom Oswald on December 10, 2008 at 3:14 pm

Hi all, a first time poster with a problem…

I have ingested all my footage without unchecking REMOVE PULLDOWN, and I don’t have a backup of the .MXF files – 🙁 🙁

I have lots of .MOVs only – the clips play back half speed, and with only the first few seconds of audio. is there ANY way to make this footage play correctly so I can edit it?

Please please…any help extremely gratefully received!!….

    Tom

Well, you could speed it up 200%, but that doesn’t fix the audio. If the audio isn’t there, it isn’t there.

Not backing up your files, as you know, was not wise. This is a hard lesson to learn, but that is what this will be…a lesson. Because you will no doubt need to reshoot.

This reminds me of the time the DP of a school film I worked on loaded the film in BACKWARDS (new camera, wasn’t paying close attention) so the entire film was shot thru the BASE of the film, not the emulsion like it should have been. Resulted in a reshoot, on the DPs dime.

    Sorry man.
