    Hi,

I have a client asking me to make compressions from betacam tapes to the following specs. My attempts to make these compressions have resulted in no audio.

I am wondering if these specs might be related to ADVC compressions.

NTSC 720×480 MPEG2 Transport Stream file at about 4 Mbps, CBR.

File Format: MPEG 2 Transport Stream
    Video Format: NTSC
    Video Size: 720×480
    Video Bit Rate: 4 Mbps
    Audio Bit Rate: 192-256 kbps
    GOP Size: 9
    GOP Structure: IBBP
    CBR (NOT VBR)

    GOP Settings: M Frames (3)
    GOP Settings: N Frames (9)
    Do not close GOP
    Audio Frequency @ 16 bit / 48 kHz

Audio type: MPEG 1 Layer 2

I am working in FCP Studio 2 but can’t seem to get anything to encode to these specs.

If you recognized the above and can tell me what software to use to get this compression on OS-X, I would really appreciate knowing what it is.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

    Lars

If you have Final Cut Studio 2 then you should also have an application called compressor which should have no problem creating MPEG-2 to those specs.
