I just installed the upgrade to Final Cut Studio. All the other apps seem to boot fine, but when I try to boot FCP5 it loads everything until it says “AE Effects…AE AdvantEdge” – then it dumps out and tells me that FCP has unexpectedly quit.

I’ve tried reinstalling FCP. I’ve deleted After Effects from my machine. I don’t know what else to do.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the input. Where exactly do I find the FCP prefs to delete them?

Read all about trashing FCP prefs here:

    https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/trashing_fcp_prefs.html

…….and you can get a free program called Final Cut Pro Rescue that does it for you. Do a Google search and it’ll come up.
