I’ve got a sequence going to the web, not much of a compressionist, could use some advice in getting rid of the flicker I’m getting on some straight lines, specifically some moire on brick, and a black music stand lit by a spot against a dark backdrop.Getting flicker on the horizontal lines of the stand, very distracting.

    My settings coming from fcp to compressor are;
    Video Encoder
    Format: QT
    Width: 320
    Height: 240
    Pixel aspect ratio: default
    Crop: None
    Frame rate: 12
    Frame Controls:
    Retiming: Nearest Frame
    Resize Filter: Linear Filter
    Deinterlace Filter: Line Averaging
    Adaptive Details: On
    Antialias: 0
    Detail Level: 0
    Field Output: Progressive
    Codec Type: H.264
    Multi-pass: On, frame reorder: On
    Pixel depth: 24
    Spatial quality: 50
    Min. Spatial quality: 25
    Key frame interval: 300
    Temporal quality: 50
    Min. temporal quality: 25
    Hinted for QuickTime

I’ve tried changing the sequence settings in fcp to upper(odd) but that didn’t help.

    What should I tinker with?

    Thanks

I’m assuming these are video clips that are flickering, not stills?
    Use the Flicker filter.
