    Hi All,
I was upgrading my osx to Leopard… and everything was fine. I did a “software update” afterwards… at the end of the update, it said the one of the programs was unable to be installed. The computer restarted… it would get to a white screen, then suddenly the fans would turn up high speed and the white screen would never change.??? I tried turning the computer off and rebooting, but still the same thing… just the white screen, loud fan motors… and on the white screen was the “circle with a line through it”. How do I get out of that white screen? Thanks in advance for your time.

    Randy

    My system:
    Mac G5 Quad 2.5
    8 gb ram
    Osx Tiger 10.4.1
    2 – 23″ Cinema Displays
    2 Burley Enclosures X 5
    10 x Seagate 500 gb
    Sonnet Tempo Host Card
    FCP Studio 2

Sounds like the update somehow corrupted your OS. Try reinstalling the OS and running the update again.

Thank you. I tried it several times, then the machine totally quit. I replaced the hard drive and haven’t had a problem since.
