Help! Can’t print to video!
Hi, It’s been a while since I’ve done this but I usually don’t have any problems. Right now I am though. I cannot get the image from the FCP video to appear in the Sony deck display. I have to be able to see that in order to know that it is recording the output to tape. Without that, it is not recording anything.
I’ve checked all my audio/visual settings against our other stations that do work, and it seems ok.
The deck is the SONY HD/DVCAM 1080i -brand new about a year ago.
Help! I need to output this to tape right away. I’ve also done the ol’ shut everything down and start it back up trick and it didn’t help.

Ok let’s try this.
1. Use Easy Setup, and choose proper setting for your device
if not
2. Check your sequence setting, could be in wrong format i.e. dvcpro or hd or something and then u couldn’t see anything
if not
3. Check if u have External Video -> All frames set to on. (CMD+F12)
if not
4. Try to reset your fcp setting, to do that remove Final Cut Pro directory from your library in home.
if not
Maybe change your firewire cable or fw port?regards

Hi, Thanks for responding. By the time you were able to reply however, I had already tried all of those things. Finally, I went to the sequence settings and for the heck of it changed it to NTSCDV with the 3:2 aspect ratio. It worked!
