  • Help!! Can’t edit to tape or view output on monitors

    Hi

I’ve been speaking to technicians all day today trying to sort my problem but thought someone here might be able to help.

When I play back a sequence in FCP 6.0.6 I can see images in the canvas window but not on either the SDI monitor or the HDMI monitor. We use a Blackmagic HD Extreme card and I thought that maybe it was faulty but I can capture footage in the log and capture window as well as the Blackmagic deck control application.

Also when I’m capturing in FCP, I can see the footage on both the SDI and HDMI monitors!! So it seems as if both FCP and the HD extreme card are working but for some reason the video output isn’t.

I’ve been through the settings a few times and everything seems OK, am I missing something really obvious?

Thanks for taking time to read this, if you can help or have any ideas what the problem is let me know.

Do you have the proper settings in the VIEW>VIDEO OUTPUT chosen? I don’t think I can help much, I deal with AJA and Matrox cards…

    Hi Shane,

Yeah, I’ve checked those settings and tried using different ones just in case but no luck. Stumped. Got another technician coming in today to look at it and have contacted both Apple and Blackmagic but no answer to my problem yet.

    Thanks for replying though 🙂
