Help! Adobe Premiere Pro won’t play audio
Posted by Spankytna on January 22, 2007 at 8:53 pmI imported an 8 GB sized file into premiere. I see the video but the audio won’t play when I render it to an avi. The volume levels are up all the way. Please advise. Thanks

January 22, 2007 at 9:41 pmYour source is not suited for editing and you use the wrong codecs. Try to record the source to a SV camera, capture from there using MS-DV AVI type 2.

January 22, 2007 at 10:34 pmCan you hear other audio from Premiere’s timeline? If yes, what is the source of this clip?

First I made a type in my post. It should have been a DV camera.
Second, he ripped a DVD, tried converting with DivX and Cinepac. Hence my comments, which were already answered on another forum.

I teach Premiere Elements on occasion. Imagine popping in a DVD and having Elements instantly rip the files into the project window, ready for more editing!!??$# Why do we bother with cameras? -

February 9, 2007 at 11:56 pmHi, I have a similar problem with Premiere Pro (1.5).
I captured the footage with a Sony VX2000, using an XLR adapter that sent the audio to only one channel. I can hear the sound when I scrub through the timeline, but not when I play the project.
I think I encountered this long ago, with Premiere 6.0, and it was a switch or setting I had inadvertently changed.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
